We are currently seeking a motivated and experienced individual to join our team as Paralegal in our North West Asbestos team.  As part of our dynamic team, you will have the opportunity to work on a diverse caseload and contribute to the success of our firm.

 

Position Overview: As a Paralegal in our Asbestos team, you will play a crucial role in supporting in all aspects of asbestos disease litigation such as mesothelioma, pleural thickening and lung cancer. Therefore, you will have a natural ability to provide legal services with a personal touch, demonstrating your care, understanding and sensitivity to clients.

 

This position requires strong organisational skills, exceptional client care skills, attention to detail, and the ability to handle a high volume of complex tasks efficiently. You will assist in case preparation, conduct legal research, manage document production, and collaborate with clients with due diligence and care.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough research on asbestos-related cases, including case law, regulations, and medical literature.
  • Manage and organise case files, including medical records and correspondence.
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards in handling sensitive information.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively with clients, colleagues, and external parties.
  • Exercise judgment and decision-making skills while working under supervision.

 

Qualifications:

  • Law Degree
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience working as a paralegal, preferably in asbestos litigation or a related field.
  • Proficiency in legal research tools and software, such as Westlaw or LexisNexis.
  • Previous experience working a case management system.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritise tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
